The Positive Impact of Financial Peace
(planning a budget with what you’ve got)

Participants learn financial wellness strategies via the book: “The Total Money Makeover.” The facilitator/trainer will assist participants in behavioral changes leading to debt elimination and smart budget planning for a happier lifestyle today and tomorrow!
The goal of this workshop is to reduce stress of job seekers whose income has changed due to job loss by providing them the tools necessary to draft a plan for a budget during a time of uncertain income.

    Participants will:
  • Review myths in budget planning
  • Review no nonsense budget strategies
  • Complete budget forms for their own household
  • Understand necessities versus non-necessities
  • Review sources for part time supplemental income
  • Take away textbook and strategies for success

Course Length: 3 hours

“Staying Connected in a Disconnected World”
(The Value of Face Time, Voice Time and the Handwritten Note)

This workshop offers communication strategies often overlooked and underutilized in today’s high tech world. The strategies are applicable to people from all walks of life and with all kinds of career experience in all industries. The message is universal and workshop participants can immediately implement one or more of the communication strategies to accelerate their job search success!

    Participants will:
  • Identify tech and non-tech methods of communicating
  • Identify advantages and disadvantages of newer high tech communication
  • Understand basics of technical writing (intended audience, message and timing)
  • Explore the advantages of face to face communication in networking and other job search steps
  • Understand the what, when, where and why to superior follow-up strategies using the telephone and cards, notes or letters
  • Practice sample follow-up phone calls and notes to recruiters, interviewers, & people in their networking groups
  • Receive personal communication packs at end of workshop for use in strategy implementation. (packs include reminder tips for what, when & why we send a personal follow-up note)

“How Big is your World Wide Web?”

Participants learn how to build their network for job possibilities through the folks they encounter in their daily lives. This three hour course includes basic rules for networking each day as well as “special touches” in the networking process that make you memorable.

    Participants will:
  • Identify all groups in which they participate and/or places they attend
  • Complete a personal profile that best describes them
  • Summarize their strengths
  • Practice their personal profile summaries among each other
  • Create their own personal “web” of contacts
  • Review personal ways of communicating w/those in their “web”
  • Practice follow up notes for understanding the networking cycle
  • Identify the most successful forms of networking for them

“Effective Communication for Leaders at all Levels”

Through the study of the DISC personal profile system, course participants will learn their own natural and adapted behavioral styles. Each course participant will complete the DISC assessment and study all four styles (Dominant, Influencing, Compliant, Stable). Classroom activities will lead to a better understanding of effective communication strategies with other personality styles. This course is a must for all organizations looking to better their internal and external communications!

    Steps to this course include:
  • Conducting an organizational needs assessment. (applicable to employer training contracts)
  • Administering the personality assessment for each course participant
  • Reviewing assessment results with each participant (whole class or individually)
  • Completion of interactive lessons in classroom for understanding all personality styles
  • Completion of communication enhancement exercises in class

Course Length: 3 hours

“Tell Me About Yourself”
(understanding personalities and communication)

This workshop is a more generic version of the above course (Communication for Leaders at all Levels) and DOES NOT include formal assessment.

    Course participants will:
  • Review personality styles, learning styles, and environmental factors that impact communicati
  • Identify their strengths & weaknesses through informal assessment
  • Role play or review communication strategies (verbal, written, email)
  • Review preferred communication methods and messages based on behavioral styles
  • Understand the need for recognizing different personality styles and communication styles for higher level of success in the workplace

Course Length: 3 hours

Participants: 25 maximum


“Entrepreneur Versus Intrapreneur?”

Are you a “born entrepreneur”? Do you wish you were or do you prefer a team environment? Identify your “DNA for success,” then leverage your strengths with compensating strategies that allow you to win in any business!

    Participants will:
  • Review the personality basics and “must haves” of successful entrepreneurs
  • Review the pro’s and con’s of self employment
  • Identify key behaviors that drive success in your business or inside the organization in which you work or want to work
  • Understand difference between Intra- and Entre preneurs
  • Discuss other sources for assistance in starting your own business
  • Identify job search websites

Course Length: 3 hours
