Penny Gee, Performance Consultant/Trainer
Biography
Penny Gee is a former elementary school teacher, adult
English teacher, Fortune 500 sales rep in textbook publishing, a Realtor, and
restaurant manager. In each new chapter in her career she found that she was
spending a great deal of time educating the various people she encountered in
her daily job assignments. She didn’t just teach 2nd graders; she
also taught their parents about academic expectations and the importance of full
circle communication between parents and school. She didn’t just teach English
vocabulary and grammar to adult students; she also taught American Culture. She
didn’t just show people available real estate for purchase; she taught them the
buying process. She didn’t just train someone to clear a restaurant table; she
taught them the importance of superior customer service.
Knowledge is Power
With over 20 years sales and education experience, Penny is now focusing her efforts on her true passion:
“empowering others through education.” She encourages self-improvement through
all kinds of courses because “knowledge is power” in our professional and
personal lives. Penny especially chooses to teach or speak on subjects that can
make an immediate impact on one’s life. She strives to empower each and every
one in some small way to be a better employee, or a better spouse, or a better
parent, or a better neighbor and community member.
Penny’s extensive travel across the U.S. and Mexico taught
her the love of languages, culture, and exploration. She ranks travel as
a very valuable form of education. One of her favorite subjects to teach is
“cultural diversity and the appreciation of sameness.” As a Spanish language
student in Mexico, Penny experienced the challenges, frustrations and ultimate
feelings of isolation due to lack of communication skills and cultural
ignorance.
Penny Gee lives with her husband Scott in a rural setting
in North Texas. She is an avid gardener and nature lover. She is a regular
volunteer in her community on behalf of non profit groups like Meals on
Wheels, Angel Tree, Friends of the Family, and CASA. She has one daughter
who attends Texas State University.
